Abstract
"The Dance of Gods - Unveiling Kathakali's Majestic Attire" is a project supervised by Ms. Shaziya Sheikh, Head of Fashion Design, with co-guidance from Mrs. Harsha Samarth and Ms. Sagar Rangire, submitted to RTMNU, Nagpur. It analyzes the iconic costumes of Kathakali artist Bhasi Puligali, focusing on the elaborate 'Pachcha' outfit used as Yamaduta in a Sanskrit play at Butler University. The research examines the under skirts, jackets, structural supports, leg ornaments, and undergarments, highlighting the craftsmanship and artistry behind Kathakali costumes. Overall, the project underscores how costume, expression, and makeup work together in this traditional dance practice.
