| dc.description.abstract | Recent Trends in Teaching and Learning English, a one-day seminar sponsored by the University Grants Commission, was organised by the Department of English. It was edited by Dr. Indira Budhe, Head of the English Department, and published by Principal Dr. N.K. Bahekar of S.S. Girls College on January 12, 2013. The editor noted that education has played a crucial role in the dissemination of English and its growing global significance. She described Globalised English as the language of the modern era, a "living language" representing mobility and uniformity. As a truly global language, it reflects the world's interconnectedness, no longer limited to British or American origins but incorporating diverse cultural influences from around the world. | |
