dc.description.abstractBeti Bachao - Save Girl Child, features a short Hindi poem that questions female foeticide. It asks, "Agar main bol pati to puchti tumse mera gunah, apni totaliji juban se kehti jarur, mat karo muzpar itna julm, apni nanhi hatiylein jodkar mang leti apne jindagi ki bhikh." The meaning: "If I could speak, I would ask what my crime is... I would say with my tiny tongue... Please don't be so cruel to me..." With my folded tiny hands, i would pleads for my life. The poem gives a voice to the unborn girl, begging for her right to live.
